track finals

For the second week in a row, the track field of the SRC was teeming with the flush of adrenaline. Groups of supporters were all ready to cheer their teams to the finishing line and were as restless with tension as the runners themselves. Having finished 4th in the qualifying heats, our relay girls had but one mission in mind: to better their placing. All week long, they were consumed by thoughts and ideas on how to improve their personal timing, and now was the time to show the rest of the world what they’ve got. Track events are probably one of the most unpredictable events in the Games, but our girls gave all they had and left everything else to the hands of fate. Eventually, even though they came short of what they deserved by finishing 5th overall, they did not fail to live up to the expectation of the event itself by providing sufficient entertainment value and great showmanship. At the end of the day, isn’t this what the Games is all about?

I think the team did quite well despite the fact that our guys did not qualify for the finals.

We came in second in the female 4x100m event with the team of Shiying,Rain, Francine and Shiqi. Something that they trained so hard for..
We came in 6th for the female 4x400m with the team of zhiyen, jean, kah sim and debbie
In the 4x800m we came in a respectable 3rd even with the last minute change of runner. Kudos to the team of viona, wenxu, jean and the 'legend' chian yee.

With a point total of 21, we missed out on 4th position by three points..
