Hall 7’s netballers showed why they were the favourites to go into the finals with a blazing victory of 47-2 over Hall 15.
Averaging 12 points per quarter, it was obvious that the game was one-sided. The attackers were in top form, with Zhiyen partnering Hall 7’s resident goal-shooter Charmain as the goal attack. The midfielders comprising Jean in her usual position as center and Shilin as wing attack did extremely well to feed perfect lobs for the shooters.
The defence held up very strongly as well to hold Hall 15 to only 2 goals. The trio of Sadaf, Janice (goal defence) and Viona (goal keeper) worked together to prevent any attacking chances from Hall 15.
Coming back from her attachment was Sadaf, a Year 3 Business student, playing in the position of wing defence. She showed why she was still in the first team with a slew of timely interceptions to Hall 15’s attackers.
Rowena, the goal-shooter who replaced Charmain after the 3rd quarter, managed to put in a few accurate shots as well despite Hall 15’s goal keeper being a head taller than her.
Leslie, an alumnus of Hall 7, could be heard shouting in reference to Rowena’s shooting skills, “Not as tall, but still as accurate!”
But the next match in the semi-final against Hall 3 would not be as easy as the quarter-final match. With Hall 3’s main players returning from their holidays, we should see a good match between both halls in the semis.
