Today, team se7en softball female played their quarters match against hall 9. Being top in the group in the preliminary rounds, team se7en would be facing a supposedly weaker team. However, hall 9 was much stronger than we had expected.
During the first round of fielding, our girls managed to hold them down with only four runs. When our girls were up to bat, they performed very well, especially Karen and Swee Ching who gave really powerful hits. As a result, we managed to reach the maximum of seven runs before changing to field again.
When it was our turn to field again, our players continued to perform well which only allowed our opponent to have another three more runs. However, when it was our turn to bat again, we lost our consistency and did not have any runs after the round of batting. Thus, at that point of time, the score was 7-7. From then onwards, it was really a tough fight between the two halls which caused the score to remain unchanged after another round of fielding and batting. Hence, when the time was up, it was a draw between the two halls. Thus, extra time was given and we were out to field first.
We continued to hold them down and only manage to give them another run. Before we started to bat for the last round, the score was 8-7 and we needed another two more runs to win the game. When we started to bat, the situation was not really favourable to us because two of our players had been strike out. When we thought we were going to lose the game, one of our players gave a good hit which managed to bring two of our players safely back home. As a result, we won with a score of 9-8! It was really a close fight, good job girls! And we would be playing in the semi-finals against hall six! All the way to finals!!!
