so proud of our se7en volleyball guys

Our team se7en volleyball guys played against hall 3 in their semi finals on Thursday night. Our volleyball guys made us really proud of them by putting up a good fight with the defending champion team.

Without needing to familiarize with the new environment, the players from both teams were already on fire when they kicked off with the first set as both wanted to win the first set to have a good start. As a result, both teams were not willing to let down as after hall 3 scored, we would get it back and score again. Hence, throughout the set, the points from both teams were not separated by more than 2 points. However, just when we were approaching the match point of 25, our players were unable to perform as well as our opponent. As a result, hall 3 players quickly seized the advantage and ended the set with a score of 25-22.

We thought that our players would perform better for the second set as they were so close to winning the first set. However, our expectations were not met with as our guys lost their morale and handed the set over to hall 3 with a score of 25-16.

As we proceed to the third set of the game, I believed hall 3 players had actually let down their guard to a certain extent as they were already leading by 2-0. Thus, they made many mistakes themselves which caused their morale to drop significantly. As such, our players seized the opportunity to perform better and whack them back even harder and finally earned our first win with a score of 25-18.

With a significant boost in morale, our players challenged their opponent with more powerful attacks and blocking. Coupled with more mistakes made by hall 3 players themselves, we stood on par with hall 3 in no time when we won the fourth set with a score of 25-21.

With a draw of 2-2, a fifth set of 15 points need to be played. However, this time round, the experienced players of hall 3 realised the need to perform at the level they should be performing. Hence, it was a tough fight between the two teams again as both fought hard to win the deciding set. The points throughout the set were back to back again. Frankly, we had a good chance of winning when we actually had a lead of 12-10 when we were approaching the set point. However, our players’ attacks were not as fierce as our opponent at that critical moment. In comparison, the experienced players from hall 3 had an edge over us as their attacks became more powerful. As a result, hall 3 won the deciding set with a score of 15-12.

Despite losing to hall 3 this time round, I believe our volleyball guys had gained a precious and memorable experience as hall se7en supporters would remember them as our super team who had created a legend in the volleyball of IHG.
