Hall 7's hockey players came out tops in a tight encounter with Hall 3 in the semifinals of the tournament. Imran provided the solitary goal in the thriller, which Se7en had the slightest of edges in, making up for the girls' loss earlier in the evening.
The first half started off brightly, with both teams charging at each other fast whenever they gain possession of the puck. Se7en had the better chances though - the puck hit the roof of the net from a short corner, only for the goal to be disallowed for a technicality. Not long after though, Imran got hold of the puck from a long corner and fired it beyond the keeper to roars of delight from the supporters. Much of the rest of the period was played with Hall 7's attacking half of the pitch; one of their corners was deflected wide while another just missed the target from an improbable angle.
The end-to-end action continued after the break, and Hall 3 came out with guns blazing. Although they put up a much harder fight, their attacks and counterattacks were quickly ended by Se7en's backline. The latter created chances of their own but were unable to convert them, as nobody was able to get on the end of a couple of deft passes. They were dealt a blow however, when Hi Chael was banished to the sidelines for a rash tackle. With a numerical advantage and little time left on the clock, Hall 3 sent long passes into attack in search of an equaliser that they needed to take the match into a penalty shootout. They came close, shooting wide of the goal near the end. Se7en held on to the lead until the final whistle though, and booked their place in next Thursday's finals.
Final score: Hall Seven 1, Hall Three 0
