news from carom players

After a grueling week of intensive training, our players were in all gears and they are all very excited about the opening of the competition. There are some new blood injected into our carom team this year and all look forward to seeing the new generation of players bloom under the care of our veteran captain, Wilson.

Around in the mid noon, our first round of competition began.

We were pitted against hall 12 in the first round. Even though nerves were tense for many of the players, we still managed to breeze through the first round with much ease. Out of 5 boards, we won 4 of them.

In the second round, we met hall 3, who was last year’s champion hall for carom. As expected, our opponents proved to be a hard nut and showed us the quality of the reigning champions. Despite that, our players displayed great fighting spirit and resilience to put up a worthy challenge against them. I would say that both sides have equal opportunities to snatch the game but in the end, the better team won. Hall 3 emerges as the victors.

In the remaining 2 rounds of the day, we met hall 14 and hall 1 respectively. In the third round against hall 14, our players managed to perform at their highest level and clinched a commanding victory over our opponents where we did not lose a single board at all.

It’s a pity that our carom team did not end the match day with a well-deserved victory. In the final round, we lost to our close rival, hall 1 by a small margin. It was a tough fight and our carom team should have deserved more than that. I could only say lady luck chose to turn against us at the wrong timing.

I believe that our players have all done their best and brought honor to hall 7. Let’s look forward to a better day! Cheers!
