Hockey (F) 1st qualifying match

The Hall 7 girls' hockey team trounced Hall 1 on the way to an emphatic 6-0 victory on 13th December in their preliminary match. The encounter, which took place on a soggy pitch, was largely a one-way affair, as the opposition were seldom able to venture out of their own half.

With barely a minute of the match gone, Aneesa opened the scoring accounts for Hall 7 after intercepting a 15m hit. The girls kept the puck in their attacking half but several chances were missed - including a square pass which failed to connect, a long corner which was saved and a shot which was disallowed for an infringement. It did not take long for Hall 1's defence to yield again though, as Aneesa bagged a second goal. The girls took a 3-0 lead into the break when the opposing goalkeeper bundled Yi Ning's hit into her own goal.

It was more of the same in the second half, as Rain tapped the puck in from a scramble to extend the lead further. Hall 1's goalkeeper made a couple of saves but another blunder allowed Aneesa to complete her hat trick. The trailing side made a couple of forays in attack in search of a consolation, but never got close enough to trouble Hall 7's goalkeeper Za. Rain completed the rout with the final goal of the evening, a hit from close range.

Final score: Hall Seven 6, Hall One 0
