Today the sun shone brightly as team se7en set out on another journey to conquer more victories. However, the results showed another story as we only won one out of three competitive matches - that is, Water Polo.
The day started with the se7en volleyball males playing a tough match against hall 3. This was a match in which the guys have been training hard for. Our opponent underestimated our ability as the usual affair between both teams always see hall 3 winning the first two sets. However, the se7en volleyball males gave them a tough fight and unsettled our opponent. Despite losing the game 2-1, the last and deciding set was filled with extreme excitement as se7en came to level hall 3 at numerous occasions. Eventually, Hall 3 won with the score reading 25-21. However, all is not lost and if se7en volleyball males put up the same fighting spirit, they will be sure to make it to the QFs and we shall await their good news.
The second match was the sepak takraw match against hall 11. Hall 11 started very strongly and controlled most of the game. Our players were forced to make mistakes such as poor services and out-balls in the first regu. However, our players played very well in the second regu with excellent services and forced hall 11 to make mistakes. The game was always on par until the eleventh minute when hall 11 started to rid of their mistakes and won the second regu with a score of 21-18.
The day ended with our se7en polo guys pitting their skills against Hall 8. Dexter, our goalkeeper, commented before the match that he would like to keep a clean sheet and true to his words, hall 7 won the game with a stunning score of 12-0 as Dexter made a total of three saves to guarantee himself and the team a clean sheet. It was perfect play by the team as the entire team attacked and defended as one. Hall 8 were never close to scoring as our defense closed them down and pressured them into giving away the ball. Sam and Qing Yao were the stars of the days as both of them amassed a total of 7 goals while Chun did brilliantly swimming from one end to the other to score a goal. This emphatic performance has sent the se7en water polo team straight into the QFs and expectations are running high but we're sure the team will be able to deliver the goods.
Whether you're in or you're out,
we're still Team Se7en.
and we are one. (:
